My computer didn't have a built-in high-speed USB port, which thanks to the USB Consortium has so many names that I get dizzy trying to remember them. all (USB 3.1 Gen 2, SuperSpeed USB 10Gb/s, Superspeed Plus USB, Enhanced SuperSpeed, SuperSpeed+, .). I wanted to be able to use the latest USB devices at the currently highest 3.1 speed (10 Gbps instead of 5 Gbps), so the answer was to add more ports with a PCIe card. The card looks well made and includes a heat sink. to help him walk cool. Easy to install and use. I haven't taken the time to officially measure the speed, but using it with some high-speed USB devices has given excellent results (USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 RAID, high-speed compact flash card readers, etc.). All offer very fast access.
