This is amazing! I have both sets of two covering 4 grains. I use them with water, not oil. Unlike stone, they don't end with uneven shells toward the center. You don't have to worry about moving the blade to keep the surface flat. I usually use sandpaper taped to a hard, flat surface for sharpening. And I have loved this method for many years. But the paper wears out, sometimes the edges are so sharp that you cut the paper. I think I'll continue to use this method for some things, but they get pulled out really quickly and finished off with a chisel or scraper. They're a bit more expensive, but considering how much longer they last compared to stone, it probably isn't that bad. I also used them to smooth the underside of the #80 spokeshave. They worked great, with some water it took me 15 minutes to get the job done instead of maybe the hour it would have taken any other method. I recommend them.
