I recently had a problem with my German Shepherd drinking water too quickly and then spitting it up. I decided to try the float bowl hoping it would slow it down. We've had a new bowl for a few weeks now and it seems to have served its purpose. He hasn't vomited water since we switched places. The bowl is dishwasher safe and can be easily disassembled for cleaning. You can hold the bowl together to refill. My dogs were a bit confused at first but quickly figured out how to use the bowl. It holds enough water for my two large dogs, but I have to refill it more often than their old bowl. I also have cats, but they don't seem to use the bowl very often; I have a separate standard bowl that they seem to use more often. The bowl also seems to have helped with dirty drinking, but that wasn't a huge problem before. I am very happy with this purchase and the fact that it has slowed my dogs down!
