These gaskets have one side facing the head and the other side facing the manifold flange l (smooth side). The Pontiac manifold gaskets also have a cutout that makes room for the dipstick tube. It turns out that there is no way to place these gaskets to the right of the head according to the installation instructions and have the gauge tube cutout in the correct position as both gaskets are absolutely identical and not double sided like normal gaskets. . The only option was to make another cut in the gasket and the damaged gasket leaked. Very disappointed with this product.
