Based on the condition of the box I suspected the vise might be used. Having opened it up and inspected the vise, I'm pretty sure it was a refurbished return. It seems fine so I'll do some functional testing before considering returning it. What worries me the most is that the message didn't say it was used and I paid what I believe was full price for a new item.
