We wanted to replace our shell ceiling fan with a lighter alternative. The fans are about 13 years old and in excellent condition and I had no intention of replacing them entirely to get more light (lumens read) in our finished space above the garage. It was the cheapest I could find, but there was no point in doing just that. So far we couldn't be happier. We already had a cover on the fan that allows you to install it directly without any modifications. I did some electrical work for the homeowner, but it was a lot easier if your fan already had lighting wires. It may be "cheap," but you can't tell when it's on the fan. Definitely worth the money.
