I bought this product to replace an existing trailer lamp. I chose this product because it has a one-piece socket to securely hold the main lamp. The lantern he replaced had an incomplete lamp socket that held the lamp in contact with a pair of spring-loaded strips of metal. It didn't work reliably. I think the Blazer product will be more reliable because of this difference. In addition, the rectangular lens on the side light of this product is fixed with screws, unlike others where the lens snaps into place. The screw method reduces the chance of breaking the lens when removing it. Installation was easy, but you do need to connect the light wires to the trailer wiring. So make sure you have wire connectors (e.g. waterproof, crimp) or solder and heat shrink tubing.
