Good, basic, chain lock.
We bought this to keep our toddler out of the basement. So far, it excels at this task. I don't know if I'd buy it to help secure an exterior door against a determined intruder . but a chain lock wouldn't be my first choice for that job anyway.

- The chain could be difficult to remove or replace if it gets damaged
