This is my first set of embroidery thread so I have nothing to compare it to. However I am really happy and excited about it. I've sewn on denim with it and the colors are shiny and saturated and stand out well. The thread is a nice thickness and feels smooth.The spools are nicely designed. The base pops out so you can tuck the thread tail in it and collapse the base back in to secure it and prevent raveling.I recommend sewing yourself a number card, maybe a chart with some satin stitch of each color with the number underneath. The sticker with the color number pops off when you put your spool pin through it.I was hesitant to buy an embroidery machine because I thought the "subscription" to thread refill would be costly but this set seems to be reasonable. This set gets me one step closer to taking that plunge.
