I had a really hard bump and the car jerked as the revs rose between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd gears. Even after tightening the OEM hose from the throttle body to the intercooler, I heard a hissing sound as the car pulled very hard with the boost on. Everyone I knew recommended this Mishimoto hose with reinforced clamps. Apparently this is a known issue with the 2011-2014 WRX. From reading other sites I bought an HPS 76-84mm "T-Bolt" clamp which uses a 10mm socket to tighten the nut. The regular large clamp didn't cut it as it could damage the threads trying to tighten the hose, but it just couldn't tighten it enough. For our cars, a boost leak is a big problem and it costs quite a bit of energy. The noise was gone, and all of a sudden I felt an increase in power and a turbo boost of about 500 rpm. Doesn't sound like much, but without the leak it was like a whole different car. Although it cost me nearly $60 with a hose and two HPS T-Bolt clamps, given the type of car we drive, it's no small feat. New or old, I would replace this hose ASAP. Unless your car has a secondary intake (and isn't tuned) you shouldn't hear a hiss or anything that might sound like a driver's side intake. Even if you can tighten the hose, the OEM hose seems to snap very easily. Go with the best :)
