Review on Samsung Genuine DA29-00003G Refrigerator Water Filter - Reliable 1 Pack (Packaging may vary) by Gary Knop

I didn't buy it from Revain but like most reviewers I was concerned about the design change and I was pretty sure it just wouldn't fit my Samsung RFG298 fridge. In frustration I checked the manual for my 9 year old fridge and it said DA29-00003G for use in the DA97-06317A system and the Samsung filter box had the same numbers. Went to Lou's and indeed the box and numbers were identical to the ones I couldn't find as easily as before. Worry about the third tooth. I usually hate putting a lot of effort into a renovation project because I usually break things when I do it. Bring back the old filter and read many reviews. One guy said to take out the old filter and move it further to the left or unlock it as needed and then put in a new three pin one. I tried it and I'm not sure if it made a difference, but now my frustration level was high enough to apply moderate force and suddenly the new filter was installed. It's funny that they changed the design from an easy to install one. We use two built-in 5 micron Big Blue filters throughout the house, although we have decent city water. Then we use a Zero Water Filter on the water we drink. So I was wondering if my water tester would tell the difference between our tap water and the water coming through the new Samsung filter after running at least 3 gallons. The tap water scored 105ppm and the fridge exactly the same 105ppm. Zero Water scored exactly zero points. I would have thought that for $50, water passing through Samsung filters would be better than our tap water. So, then a taste test, and none of us could tell the difference in taste between the three waters.
