I tried to determine this before ordering but there seemed to be some misleading information (or I was just lazy and guessing). On me for having to look closely at the pinout diagram and compare it to what I needed. Fast forward to unboxing and dice free when I installed it. Direct USB to RS232 options seemed limiting (or expensive) so before sending it back I figured I'd just order a "null modem" adapter. For the record, if you use two null modems together you should get a direct connection as it just swaps pins 2/3 (rx/tx) each time. This trick worked and now I'm in business. I used the following adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075XHWVSJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
