Review on Magnetic Flex Heated 235x235mm Ender by Maurice Harvey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great addition to my printer

This polyethylene bed is a great addition to my printer. So far nothing has stuck to it that I couldn't tear off with my fingernail. No sticking problems either. The kit comes with a magnetic pad similar to the one that comes with the printer and a metal PEI platform. The flexible magnetic cushion is now on the shelf together with the standard cushion. PEI film is a piece of sheet metal that has a tan-brown coating on one side. As others have pointed out, remove any obvious peeling protective layers before use. Notice that the brown layer looks like it should peel off as well. It isn't / shouldn't be. I removed the standard magnetic sheet and just threw the PEI metal sheet directly onto the ender bed. The PEI sheet appears to be magnetic so it grabs and sticks. Align carefully. The new sheet has a different thickness and the PEI seems a bit trickier. Remember that this is a coated metal plate. If you insert a nozzle, you can scratch it or damage the nozzle. It looks pretty flat. I had to lower my bed temperature by 5 degrees for PLA. noticed overheating. With that the situation was resolved. DO NOT grab the sheet metal with a scraper! At most, lift it and bend it just a little and your work will pop out. I expect scratching will ruin it. I am very satisfied and expect to use this item until I wear it out and then buy another. EDIT: 6 months later it's still a worthwhile investment. It starts to ring a bit, but that's to be expected. In any case, the prints adhere too well to the sheet. I will never go back to a standard bed.
