Expected More/Better

I've always heard good things about Elchim styling tools and when I got the chance to try the new Elchim 8th sense hair straightener I was very excited. I prefer the T3 hair straightener, which I really like and costs about the same as this Elchim. Everything is neatly packaged and protected which is great. The set comes with a travel bag suitable for this straightener. The quality of the bag is decent, not amazing or terrible, just normal. The straightener has a protective plastic piece that goes over both ends, which I found very useful, especially if you intend to travel with it. The straightening iron has a pleasant weight and feels good in the hand. It certainly looks good, looks and feels good overall. I really like that all the buttons are inside yet easily accessible. It turns out that brands either put buttons on the outside and you end up pressing them all the time, or put them on the inside but not in a convenient place, making them inconvenient to use. But this moose has managed to accommodate it in a way that is easy to use. Well how much it works, to be honest I'm not very impressed. It heats up very quickly, in about a minute even on higher settings, but there are some issues. First, it doesn't slide through my hair like any other high-end hair straightener usually does. I can almost feel it getting to everyone in places after a while. It's not so bad that it's unusable, but I still feel it from time to time. Usually if I style too much hair while straightening with a higher quality flat iron, I don't have a problem with my hair getting tangled and the extra hair just falling out while I straighten the rest. But when I use a lot of hair, it gets caught at the top and bottom of the straightener and gets tangled. I also had the same problem with curling my hair. So I have to be very careful to only use small sections of hair. None of these things are the ultimate deal breaker, but I really expected a lot more from the brand...
