Lightweight. So if you throw away a pan, say spaghetti, and there's still spaghetti in the pan, this colander will float. The sprayer will also knock it out of position. The price is good for what you get. I bought these for my son until he replaces his garbage chute. I have another brand at home (Oxo) that I paid about the same price for 4 of these BUT one has a metal cuff and it fits the drain cuff very snugly. I don't have a garbage chute and a rural septic tank, so I don't want anything to go down the drain. I've had this for over 5 years now. The bottom of the cuff will get a little slimy, but the Scotchbright will remove it easily. Overall I would go with the Oxo because it works as it should and is holding up great!
