Review on πŸ–₯️ ASUS Designo MX27AQ 2560X1440 Frameless Monitor: Sleek & Stunning Display by Albert Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a stunning display of color and clarity right out of the box.

The monitor arrived in a Revain box measuring 36 inches long by 13 Β½ inches deep by 22 inches wide. The ASU box is 27 inches long, 5 inches deep, and 21 inches wide, so there was enough room to protect the monitor if only Revain had put more packaging in the shipping carton. I give you these sizes. So if you're transporting, shipping, etc., this better prepares you for the vehicle/crate, etc., size you need, or prepares you for what you need. I opened the box and found some wrapping paper. , but that wasn't enough because there was enough void space to allow the monitor to shift significantly in the shipping container. However, the monitor was in good condition and I did not find any damage to the actual ASUS monitor box. The monitor shipped via USPS and was parked on my doorstep the day it was supposed to arrive, so everything is fine there. I'm giving you PC specs because some reviews on other sites suggest they can't get the monitor's native resolution. I don't know if it's your cable or your graphics card, but I haven't had this problem. ) 3.60 GHz Intel Core i7-479016336 MB usable installed memory Crucial_CT1024MX200SSD1 [hard disk] (1000.20 GB) -- drive 0.9981.04 GB usable hard disk capacity 8869.22 GB free hard disk space opened box neatly packed on top lay several different cables for different connections. All I needed was a power cord, as I was replacing a monitor that was already in use, and an HDMI cable. All of this is packed in a neat foam case. The monitor comes in two parts, monitor and stand. Just slide the stand and you can tighten the stand with a screw with your finger. One day you just have to adjust the angle of the monitor to suit your needs. Power Cord: A lot of times I just use the power cord that I already have plugged into my surge protector, but this one had a different plug that connected to the power supply so I had to unplug the old cord that goes to the other monitor, and connect this. I have a hole about 3" in diameter where I tape wires and cords for my computer to access. With this particular power supply, the actual cord that connects to the AC power supply is quite short and the power supply lead is quite long. This means I had to change the way I connected the monitor because the power didn't go through the 3" hole. I had to connect the AC adapter to the surge protector, leaving the power adapter next to the surge protector, and plugging in the monitor plug through the 3" hole. This gave me about 3 inches of length because I didn't want the PSU hanging loose in the air. If they made the power cord a bit longer, that would be an issue as the power adapter could be on either side of their access point. However, this shouldn't be a problem for most buyers as they most likely don't have this type of setup. HDMI Cable: First, I decided to try the HDMI cable that came with the ASUS monitor. There must have been a problem because I was getting what looked like noise and white pixels/stars were dancing on my screen. Then I tried using my HDMI cable and everything was gone (probably a bad cable because I tried it on a different monitor and set up the PC and got the same results). So since I had a good quality HDMI cable, I used it anyway. , and like I said, the problems are gone. Image: After plugging in my monitor and turning my Windows 10 PC back on, I noticed this immediately. Something popped up and said calibrating your monitor and in just a few seconds I was presented with a very impressive display. The colors were bright and clear. No dead or stuck pixels and the brightness is perfect. Blacks were deep and everything seemed to come to life on screen. To compare this I changed my theme to Microsoft Fish and put this monitor next to my HP 2511x monitor. The difference was very clear! Not only were the colors more realistic and vibrant, I was actually able to see details that I had never noticed before. The fish had thin lines that used to look solid. Then I opened Excel and compared (this is with the tape and QAT in full view). At 1920 x 1080, I could see AC column and row 40, which is 1160 visible cells, at the default new sheet width. With this monitor I could see the AM column and row 58 which is 2262 visible cells! That's about 195% more viewable area for my spreadsheet, which is pretty amazing. Dueling Screen: Since I have Windows 10, I didn't have to try their software that allows you to split screens into 2 or 4 windows because the Widows 10 Snap feature works. very good. What I really like is that I can work on four screens at the same time, which is very convenient for me. I no longer have to scroll, blink or zoom in on the screen. I have enough space to get comfortable, although split screen is still better than quad screen, quad screen can be controlled on this monitor. extreme right edge. The power button has a faint blue light that stays on. It might be annoying to some, but it didn't bother me at all. The buttons are pretty intuitive and it doesn't take long to figure them out. Make sure you're oriented correctly so you don't actually turn off the monitor. Besides, they work well. Speakers: They sound very good for what they are. They are quite loud and very clear. The base is a little lacking, but for 3W speakers they're remarkably good. I didn't say them because I have a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 kit which sounds a lot better at first glance, so I just plugged it in and Windows automatically disabled the speakers coming out of the monitor. However, if I had no option other than monitor speakers, it wouldn't be so bad. Overall: Picture quality - 5 stars Ease of setup - 5 stars Build quality - 5 stars Appearance - 5 stars Documentation - 4 Β½ stars (just because some people won't understand) Choice of included cable - 5 stars Cable quality - 2 stars (I think man can get a bad cable from time to time) Speakers - 4 Β½ stars. Yes they lack a base, yes they are not very powerful but for what they are they are very good. Overall - 5 stars. This monitor has replaced the HP 2511x and is superior in every way. If you're ready to be amazed, get this monitor. It's a bit more expensive than others I've reviewed, but since I received it I have no regrets as a buyer.
