I bought this to use as a switchable extension of my fuse box in the trunk of my car. I extended one of the leads and installed a momentary switch to break the circuit. The problem I have is that it doesn't fit the mini fuse socket at all without modifying it. I had to file the prongs on the inside to widen the gap to fit the groove and also file the outside of the plastic on top as it was too wide. Also remember that you need a standard sized fuse to put in the other end, so the fuse you pull out to extend the chain with it won't work at all. The backup wasn't really an issue, but be aware that this isn't a plug-and-play item. I would look elsewhere to purchase another of these before ordering this one again. If I couldn't change it myself, it would be completely useless!
