This aquarium is too small for betta (or any other fish) but that's why I didn't buy it. I actually bought a large aquarium as a Christmas present for my brother and also decided to buy this very small aquarium as a temporary place for his future Betta to sit for a while when his "house" is cleared. I think it's better than getting stuck in a small jar! If you can buy it for under $5 like I did, it's not bad at all for the purpose. I'm impressed that it comes with a small bag of food, a small bottle of water conditioner, and a small bag of gravel. I feel like I got a lot for my money with this purchase. This will be a good addition to other small bettas that I bought with the aquarium. But please note that anyone reading this is NOT making this a permanent home for your fish! Fish have feelings too, and I know they wouldn't like to be cooped up in such a small space.
