EPA standards requiring safety spouts are terrible. Like any safety spout these days, they are designed for non-vented canisters and using them will inevitably result in you spilling fuel everywhere to prevent fuel vapors from escaping. These spouts compare relatively well to spouts from other manufacturers. . The seals are thick and the fuel release mechanism basically works. I have a few issues: 1) The plastic part you have to snap into to push the plunger and release the fuel requires you to have pliers or steel fingers. 2) If you store the spout in a canister. and the canister is full, when you remove the spout, it is full and the safety mechanism keeps fuel after you remove the spout from the canister. When you put the spout on the canister, it will pour out and the fuel will be on the ground.3) The spring of the release mechanism is very strong, so when the canister falls, you have to press hard to hold it. In general, the rules that enforced this design are terrible and counterproductive, but this spout works at least as well as most other options.
