This belt sander seems to be the favorite among wood workers, which was the reason i chose to buy. However, after opening the box i was pretty upset and disappointed.First, the box was in bad shape from shipping and when I unboxed I found the brand new sander loosely moving around between both packing foams. I didnt think much of it but after inspecting it, I found a large gouge on the top of the motor housing and a few minor ones on the disk sander plate. Either i recieved a refurbished sander, one that was returned by someone else, or the poor packing caused the damages?Second, as i was reading the instructions. I noticed that I was missing some important parts. I was missing both the table lock nut and washer that secures the work table to the disk sander. I was also missing 2 hex bolts, 5mm hex wrench and more importantly the belt backstop, which is a key safety measure.After extensive research, I found bucktool had the best reviews compared to other brands at the same price. However, i was pretty disappointed to recieve my new order in this condition.UPDATE!Customer service was quick to resolve the issues. Thanks!After several projects this thing works like a beast. I absolutely love the direct drive. It works even better than i had expected. I use it for small and large projects. I have even made fishing lures. Great product!
