Review on 🔧 1/4" Drive Click Stop Torque Wrench - Reversible, 20-200 lbs. - With Carrying Case by Michael Floyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good for repeating

Pros: This is an adjustable ratchet torque wrench and probably the cheapest in the world. It is useful for applying a repeatable known torque to fasteners. It clicks quietly and correctly, like any good ratchet knot. It comes with a plastic case that fits easily and contains both English and metric torque scales. It looks like a quality tool. Cons: It may be the cheapest in the world. For those who sincerely believe price should be an indication of quality, look elsewhere. Those looking for an instrument with an accurate NIST-traceable calibration should look elsewhere. If my job depended on a tool like this, I would think: I've seen the same torque wrenches at local auto parts stores (same finish, same knurling, same), differing only in brand and packaging. and three times more expensive. . The manufacturer says this wrench is calibrated to +/- 4%, which is entirely plausible and suits my needs quite well. Pittsburgh is a trademark of Harbor Freight. The reviews for this item on Harbor Freight's own website are much better than here on Revain, and I suspect that's because most of the negative reviews here seem to come from people who have never used a click-in torque wrench before . . and I just don't understand the correct working of such a tool. There is nothing wrong with this article. The clicking can be faint, but this is common with all torque wrenches at lower torque settings. The best tool manufacturers often offer several different, relatively narrow, overlapping torque ranges for a given socket size in order to achieve a more noticeable click at lower torque settings. required by the end user. In contrast, this wrench has a very wide range, which is good for the home mechanic who doesn't want to buy 3 different torque wrenches to cover a typical set of fasteners. I also have 3/8" and 1/2" versions of this wrench. and have used it occasionally for years. I don't expect to have to replace them in my lifetime by displaying my own cars in the driveway.
