I had problems with the air conditioning. The system had to be repaired twice in about a week. Bought these for the temp range and sensor thinking I could plug the sensor directly into the register and see the temp in the register more easily. The sensor definitely does nothing. There is a small ventilation hole on the back of the LCD. I think this is where the only sensor is. At the same time, a comparison with several conventional alcohol thermometers in the house and with a thermometer on the thermostat is not even close. With the probe in register and the display unit out, they read about 84F, while a conventional thermometer reads 68F next to it. At best, the back of the display shows the temperature near the ceiling. May be. If I needed a probe thermometer for important measurements like pet care, this would not be my choice. Strangely, the hygrometer seems to be accurate.
