Review on Rechargeable Digital Noise Cancelling Hearing Aid BLJ-109 - Banglijian (1 Unit) by Mark Hayes

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I paid $2500.00 for my last . They lasted 9 years. This one lasted 5 months.

I have tried to upload photo of crumbled hearing aid.but interestingly I am not "allowed". The hearing aid did not last under normal use. It cracked and crumbled. The plastic inferior. I left my previous review intact and just added this on top. It falls apart quickly. That makes it a poor product in my estimation. THE FOLLOWING IS MY FIRST REVIEW, WRITTEN BEFORE I KNEW THE HEARING AID WOULD DETERIORATE.I went to the Boystown Institute for hearing and got my last hearing aids. I spent thousands on those hearing aids and had to spend a lot of time getting my ears tested and begging for them to turn up the volume. My hearing loss is mainly high tones. Which is especially unfortunate because I teach high school and CANNOT hear girl's voices. They speak so softly. I don't have problems with low tones. The aid technician told me that my hearing aids lasted longer than anybody's he had known before. My hearing aids lasted 9 years on one and one jad to be repaired .which cost over $300 just for the repair! and they took my hearing aid for 15 days. So when the left one stopped working, instead of going without my aid for 15 days while waiting for a repair, I thought I would try this amplifier out. I am VERY glad I did. This hearing aid I paid $80, and there's a lot to appreciate about this hearing aid for $80. For people that are not used to wearing hearing aids, they might have some issues with how a hearing aid works. They do amplify sound VERY well and they don't pick up too much background noise. There definitely is a learning curve if you haven't worn hearing aids before. One of the things that I found about these hearing aids is that you have to reseat them in your ear canal to get them to work correctly there are four volume settings, and if you have them too high you might have a problem with the squealing feedback. Making sure there isn't any obstructions in the tubes or build up on the earpiece. I really like that they are rechargeable and you don't have to replace the batteries. However , you have to be careful not to charge them overnight .so do not plug them in overnight. That is in the instructions. The hearing aids charged really quickly when I first plugged them in. I had to trim the tube that goes from the hearing aid into your ear canal. I was alone when I got the hearing aid and put it in my ear and took a picture of the hearing aid tube with my cell phone so I could see where I needed to cut the tube to fit in my ear correctly. It has worked out very nicely. I have gone all around the school where I work and told other teachers about this good deal. BUT, I am also careful to warn if you aren't use to hearing you will be shocked at what you have been missing.and might think they are way too loud. You will hear things like your hair moving, maybe the air conditioning unit, clocks ticking.but you will get used to them. Really.

Pros
  • Medical Supplies & Equipment
Cons
  • The hearing aid may not result in significant improvement for those with severe hearing loss
