I first tried the slightly cheaper General American dovetail jig and it was flimsy, deformed easily and was generally difficult to tune for accuracy. This mount is much better. It's durable and the ability to machine both sides (pins and ribs) at the same time saves you the headache of having the two sides match perfectly. The only problem is working with longer wood if you can't set this jig at a 90 degree angle. I can only mount it on a desktop as shown in the picture and the pieces of wood come out from the bottom. I work with 60 inch pieces so I had to set it up on my deck and feed the wood from the hill below.
