It takes a while for the initial setup until you realize the offset sensor is not set to 1/2 inch as intended which is a stamped/bent part inaccurate . Looking for the problem I found posts in 2002 saying that there were problems with the displacement sensor, you'd think they could fix it in 18 years!

I bought this unit to replace my old dovetail mount. Setting up the router installed on the ild device took so long that I had to leave a dedicated router for it. The new device has a built-in setting sensor, which saves a lot of time and one less router in the workshop. Thank you for making something better than the old, which is rarely made these days.

This is absolutely the easiest device I've ever used! I have a Leigh mount and trying to set it up for half blind dovetails is ridiculous so I bought it for half blind dovetails and it's great for easy tuning. I made a box with it after a 30 minute install. I watched the setup video before purchasing so I was familiar with it. If you want to make half-blind dovetails, order this jig!

I recently built new cabinets for my kitchen and wanted them to look the same as they used to. These are currently not well made so I wanted to build my own. I had an old jig rig that was difficult to set up and has seen better days. I built them out of oak so I didn't want to waste them! I'm glad I bought this device. If you're like me you think this is all I need to make a dovetail. No, you will also need a reversible mount which is sold in another set consisting of two aluminum pieces. I thought the other was a trick. With this kit you can make half-blind swallowtails. There you don't see the sidebar detail when you open the drawer, but you still have the dovetail power. I first tried the slightly cheaper General American dovetail jig and it was flimsy, deformed easily and was generally difficult to tune for accuracy. This mount is much better. It's durable and the ability to machine both sides (pins and ribs) at the same time saves you the headache of having the two sides match perfectly. There are other good reviews and tips but I found two things that were useful.1. Some others have found that the parts don't align perfectly, and this is because the offset guide doesn't exactly offset the parts by 1/2 inch. Several solutions have been mentioned, but I found the easiest to use a small piece of tape on the edge of the vertical part of the rail.
