Review on ๐Ÿ”— Makita P-45777 Guide Rail Connector Kit: Streamlined Black Linking Solution by Tim Springer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No Instructions: Power & Hand Tools

Somehow from reading the sales page and some reviews I got the impression that these are 2 identical rods used in the bottom guide in the rail and the accessory guide on the outer rail side. 2 rods to make the connection more secure and less slack. Supplied with 2 metal rods, 5 set screws and a hex wrench in a nice resealable tube that fits in a Makita chainsaw case. But 2 rods of different thickness and only the thinner one has only one unthreaded hole. There were no directions, no pictures. As I installed just the thicker bar and started tightening the set screws, I noticed that she was pushing the rail in from the other side. That's when I realized that the thinner bar had to be used in conjunction with another bar so the set screws would rest in the groove on the underside of the rail. However, aligning the two rods precisely will align one of the set screws with a single hole in the thinner rod. So compensate the bar. 4 stars because I think too much.
