These lights work as advertised. Brake and turn signals, depending on your trailer and/or vehicle type. Forget your trailer/car color code. The main thing to remember is that the white wire on the lamp is grounded. Just ground this wire wherever there is grounded metal. He already has a peephole on the white wire. .Next black wire for H/L switching. The color does not matter. Just find the chain (on some pendants this wire is brown, on some it is green). Next. and very important. no trailers that I know of have a "brake light wire". The red wire goes to the turn signal wire on your trailer (again the color code varies). On most newer cars, the turn signal circuit activates the brake lights. Older cars, some trucks, and farm equipment have a separate circuit for the brake lights on the car. If you own one of these rare cars, you'll need to hook up a special diode system so that when you apply the brakes, the T/S activates on both sides, giving the appearance of brake lights.
