The connection wasn't perfect; I have the feeling that English is not the native language of the respondent. But this communication helped a lot. OTOH, the instructions that came with the product itself were pretty minimal; I found more installation information on their website but I still had a very hard time deciding where to install and ended up moving a rack enough times to get it right that it looked like it had one Woodpecker tried it in the appropriate places where I tried to install racks. Also, a connection with a single nut (without a washer) is unlikely to be secure, so I look for hex nuts about half an inch in size (there are four of them); They use a 9/16" FWIW socket. And lock washers. That means with a nut-washer-nut sandwich, hopefully there won't be any problems with nuts trying to loosen like they are now. One more minor thing , and as this is mostly due to my inexperience I thought the gas struts would sort of 'support' my hatch in the floor when it was open, however I found that it opens a little more than I would like and what does that matter to them preventing it from opening any further are the piston parts of the gas struts, resting on the rim of my sunroof hole --- the struts don't feel THAT strong compared to the weight of the sunroof being held that way and I'm concerned that the edge of the sunroof frame could deteriorate a bit over time and/or that the strut pistons could just bend.. So now I'm going to try to add a simple chain or maybe a slide bar to hold the open hatch a n to keep in place. There are many cons here but most of them are due to my own ignorance and again the customer service is great although the feedback is not always very clear and the product works and I think the price is low. As is usually the case, only time and use will tell the durability.
