this device is not 54 Mbps.
I bought this based on a review from another person who wrote here that it can reach 54 Mbps but in actual use even if I bring a good quality router and this card's antenna is only a foot away from it can reach a maximum of 19 Mbps. If I put it in the next room (15 feet away and a wall) the max speed I can get is 12Mbps. So if those speeds suit you then this card may come in handy, otherwise it is useless.
