I needed to replace a flimsy plastic lightbox and I used this. I had to access the attic to pry out the old box and installed this new one from the attic while I was there (although it can be installed from below provided you can remove enough insulation/wiring). It worked great. I had to put some washers under the legs to keep them from falling through the existing hole in the drywall next to the counter. new hole this way. The new large ceiling fan is stable and does not wobble. (Note: I used a regular bracket/fan box to replace the plastic box in another room and it was a lot harder to install than this type and it's not level))
