Husband thought it was a great product

He used it to install a chandelier with intentions of installing a ceiling fan in the future. He was really impressed with the easy installation and good quality.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Modern

Existing design ceiling fan bracket

I have used this item before. Now it's hard for me to get into the attic because of my knees. This item allows me to install my ceiling fan without crawling through the attic. I needed a friend to run a power line from my existing power source to my overhead outlet. BUT I could run the power cord from the PSU to the fan with this product. That's exactly what a person needs to install a ceiling fan and lighting.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Easy and safe installation in an existing ceiling.

Electricians fixed my 40 lb chandelier to a 15 lb electrical box in the dining room. A year later the box failed and the lamp was dangling from the ground wire! This electrical box hanger is designed for heavy ceiling fans and my ceiling light will never damage it. It was easy to install through an existing hole in the drywall. I used a large wrench to lengthen the hangar beam by inserting spikes into the ceiling trusses. It carried my weight with no problem. The instructions could be a bit…

High quality electrical boxes

Much stronger and better than any other hardware store. The big difference is how the J-Box attaches to the bar. Also, a metal tripod compression bar ends with metal rods that you use with a wrench to increase the pressure on the rafter boards. Super easy install and I know it won't work. He holds 85 pounds. fan, but before putting the fan in the box, I carefully and safely hung myself for 10 seconds to test the strength. The compression fan kits bought from another store were not strong, thick

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Minor problems

Good fan, difficult to install

Once installed, the fan provides quiet and satisfying airflow. However, the installation turned out to be too complicated. Instructions were unclear and diagrams were often ambiguous. Screw holes and other fasteners are often misaligned. Different cables and the remote control often interfered with each other. After several hours of trying, we finally had to call an electrician who spent a long time trying to complete the installation himself. If you don't already have a mount (e.g. from…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Wouldn't use it again if it was free.

I have used about half a dozen of these picks from at least 3 different manufacturers. The task of installing them through a 4" hole is never easy, but I've gotten good solid brackets on all previous projects. This particular model looks solid and is made of solid metal. and screw) like to jam, and the whole thing wants to roll to the side when tightened. Also, there are no grip points at the bottom of the "A" point to prevent rotation. So if you have exposed joists, like I have in both houses…

Pros
  • FULLY ADJUSTABLE BRACKET — Installs between joists or rafters 16" to 24" center to center. The ends of the brackets are cut into the timber joist or rafter and hold the fan or bracket securely in place.
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

worked great: Electrical Boxes, Wiring and Fittings

I needed to replace a flimsy plastic lightbox and I used this. I had to access the attic to pry out the old box and installed this new one from the attic while I was there (although it can be installed from below provided you can remove enough insulation/wiring). It worked great. I had to put some washers under the legs to keep them from falling through the existing hole in the drywall next to the counter. new hole this way. The new large ceiling fan is stable and does not wobble. (Note: I used

Turned out I bought the best solution

Fun story to accompany this item. I searched and found this for a project hanging a heavy chandelier. Turns out I didn't need it. I put it in the garage thinking it wouldn't be used. However, another project soon emerged, which involved attaching an existing plastic electrical box to a very thin brace over the existing drywall. This very durable Arlington was the perfect solution for my new ceiling light. Since I used it to replace an existing box in a drywall ceiling, the hardest part of the…
