This is a common light weight cable. I can't call anything less than 12 AWG Heavy Duty. I've been in the construction industry for 20 years. You can't even break a 16 AWG wire in a commercial site. The Guardian cuts off the end! Although they are well suited for light work in the household. If you're using a 9 or 10 amp cord to run a saw or whatever, I would consider upgrading to a larger cord. Lights, vacuums, grow lights, low power grow fans, these things will work great forever.
