The first mod I wanted to do with my 2014 Silverado 5.3L. Bought, installed and noticed my MPG dropped 2-3mpg. Admittedly I was a little over-throttled when I heard that great sound as air was being sucked into the intake, but I relaxed it a bit for a while and noticed a small difference. After a bit of research, I found that a few people were noticing the same thing and attributing it to K&N's use of oil filters. It appeared that after the first few hundred miles some of the oil from the filter made its way into the MAF, possibly causing the engine to use more fuel to compensate for the perceived reduction in airflow. I bought a MAF sensor cleaner, cleaned the MAF and noticed my MPG increase again over the next few miles. Don't blame K&N for that, it happens to be an oily filter. Just be aware that this can happen and I would recommend cleaning the MAF after driving it around a bit. I'll probably even clean it again soon to make sure it's clean and everything works fine. I also fitted a catback exhaust shortly after and I really like the sound of this pair. Definitely recommend.
