I've used this kit a few times to work on my and my sister's computer mouses. I'm new to electronics repair, so my experiences are likely colored by that, but I'll give my review of the set. I've made use of the anti-static bracelet, the magnetic bracelet, the main interchangeable screwdriver set (getting to that in a minute), the opening picks, the tweezers, and a few of the spudgers. I think the biggest problem this kit has is redundancy, but there are also some quality issues. There are 4 short plastic spudgers with hooked ends on both sides. That's 8 of that particular type of opening/prying device. There are 2 slightly longer plastic spudgers that have one pointed end and one flat end with a hooked cut-out. That's maybe more forgivable because it's easy to wear down a fine point on a plastic tool, but it does continue with the theme of redundancy. There are 3 metal tools that I'd also probably describe as spudgers (I may be wrong, though) that don't seem to add any functionality that isn't already there with other tools. There are 3 different interchangeable screwdriver sets, one of which is almost entirely redundant and inferior to another option. The screwdriver that looks like a pen has 2 philips and 2 flathead screwdriver tips, and only one of the philips heads isn't in the larger interchangeable screwdriver kit. And the pen screwdriver isn't magnetized, while the larger kit is. There are 3 extras each of two sizes of one particular kind of screwdriver head for the main interchangeable screwdriver kit. There are no other extras, and it's a type of head that didn't show up at all in either of the mouses I was looking at.There are both plastic opening picks and a metal opening.shiv, for lack of a better word. And I don't think the metal would be good for prying more stubborn pieces, because it's thin enough to easily bend by hand. There are 2 pairs of straight tweezers, neither of which is of usable quality. The tips on one are disaligned, preventing getting a solid grip on things, and the tips on the other are bent outward, preventing any sort of decent grip at all. The curved tweezers are ok, though. The next bits could easily be just my own ignorance. The clamp-like thing seems really poorly made. It doesn't actually clamp closed, because the spring only causes it to retract to about 1/2" open. It makes a rattling sound when I shake it, and I can't figure out why. The larger screwdriver heads only fit in the heads on the spring screwdriver things. I'm not sure why they have springs on them, and they end in what looks like it should fit into a handle, but there is no handle they fit into.On the positive side, the magnetic screwdriver and the magnetic bracelet made it easy to avoid losing screws, and I have a strong tendency to lose small parts when taking things apart. So those helped me avoid disaster. And while anti-static bracelets are the kind of thing that you can never really tell if they're working until you don't have it and something goes wrong, it probably prevented static electricity from being a problem.Overall, the only thing about this kit that's unique compared to other kits I've seen is the magnetic bracelet, but there's also a magnetic mat that would work just as well, and those are common to a lot of other kits. The kit does the job - mostly, anyway, as none of the screwdriver heads got a good grip on one of the types of screw I came across - but I wish I'd spent more time looking at the options and gone with a cheaper kit, or a kit with a wider variety of screwdriver heads. You can use the kit to take apart electronics, though, so that's why I'm giving it 3 stars, because it does what it says it does, even if it's not a great buy.
