Review on πŸ₯« Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch Electric Can Opener (Model 76606ZA) - Easy Push Down Lever, Opens All Standard-Size and Pop-Top Cans, Extra Tall Design - Black and Chrome Finish by Gilbert Pfaff

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The knife can jam. suitable for electricians

At first I really liked the can opener. There are no sharp edges and it opened all cans with no problems. After two months he has NOT opened ANY cans. Absolutely none, even after (I thought) thorough cleaning. I will be in touch with Hamilton Beach shortly for a repair or replacement under the product warranty. Lets see what happens. Update: I have read the warranty carefully and realized that I am responsible for shipping BOTH ways for repair or replacement. Shipping will no doubt cost more than a can opener. Really not worth it. I suspect that's why Hamilton Beach would like us to pay for shipping so they don't have to replace or repair a defective product. Buy another Hamilton Beach product? I do not think so. And I don't think anyone should do that. I've since reconsidered that statement. UPDATE: I realized I overreacted and changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. A thin piece of metal when opening the can jammed the cutting disc and prevented the knife from spinning. After that the can opener stopped working. I unscrewed the four screws on the back of the opener and removed the front. Then I loosened the screw holding the disk cutter. This gave some wiggle room for the cutter, but I couldn't get the cutter off. I cleaned the router bit (top and bottom), oiled the router bit (top and bottom), then reassembled. Now it works. You'd think Hamilton Beach would write something on the subject. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is their return policy.
