Used this on a 10-year-old 2010 Fit with a rusted-out latch that would not open. Pretty simple to replace the latch itself, but you will probably need to replace some retention clips on the trim piece that covers the latch (they'll inevitably break if the car is old), and those are a bit expensive from a Honda dealership. You will also need to remove the interior trim on the hatchback, and make sure those clips stay in the same place - the colors mean something, and they're a few bucks apiece if you lose one. Plenty of how-to videos that cover the process - if you're moderately handy with basic tools, you'll do fine.
