Review on Enhanced Magnetic 196X126Mm Flexible Printer (7 7X5 Inch) by Erik Haynes

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works with slight DIY modifications. No (updated)

Update: Even though the prints do finally stick, larger horizontal prints deform the build plate and pull it away from the magnet during printing. (see images with red squares highlighting the problem). This also warped the print. I don't know if this is specific to these flexplates or just this brand. You can grit your teeth and grab one of the tried and true flex sheets. Works with modification (no need to do this. The manufacturer should be aware of this issue) ), magnetism detected (no, see update). Please note that prints may not adhere to the build plate when unpacked. I got a new resin at the same time, so I quickly blamed the resin. But after testing with the tried and trusted siraya tech resin I still had failure after failure with only small pieces barely hanging from the flexplate. I know this can be caused by a buildplate that is too smooth, so I took a 220 grit, laid it face up on a flat surface, and ran a ton of flex-plate buildplate over it. Then again with 500 grit. Wow! I get reproducible, perfect prints that stick to the plate. A mounting surface that is too smooth is a well-known problem in stereolithography printing. The manufacturer of this type of product must know and prevent this. Still good for the price, but be aware that sandpaper will also cost a few bucks to get it working.
