The crimp metal is lower quality and has less surface area, so it's difficult to make a perfect crimp like Ancor's when using Ancor tools. You can make a regular crimp, but if you look closely you most likely tore the shrink wrap around the crimp area. I would use them for non-marine projects or cars but not in the way I would trust them on my boat.
