Review on XHF 205 PCS 3.5" 3:1 Adhesive-Lined Heat Shrink Tubing Kit For Auto And Marine Applications by Damion Pasquale

Great for waterproof and stress proof connection covering

Purchased to replace a setup that was lost at a customer's garage and on my latest job it's worked out well for an engine swap and some needed add ons for the swap. The used harness was from the engine needed a ton of splices and the heat shrink has been quicker to use than the previous items used and gives good adhesion to the wires making connections going forward the option of crimping instead of soldering. I've always used clear heat shrink to be able to check connections without having to use a test light on all wires making race prep or diagnosis much quicker. We actually cut a 14 gauge wire and only used the heat shrink to join the cut pieces together to test the pull strength and I picked up and hung a group 34/78 Optima red top with the wire and it's still hanging without even any stretch on the heat shrink tubing so I'm satisfied that the connections will stay together even if incredible loads are put on them! The 1 issue is the storage box latches, even though I only opened the box to check out the product and place identification stickers on it the latches aren't the greatest and we've had to put everything back in the box a few times from only falling a foot or 2 it needs to be better. Aside from what we put the box through it's a definite good purchase I will again a few times over after using it.

Pros
  • A good quality product for restoration projects or just general repairs
Cons
  • Wish I could find a better quality American Made variety.

These took forever to shrink using a heat gun and by the time they were shrunken it had burn marks from all the heat it needed
