I was excited to try the ESP8266 as a base for my next project. This board seemed like a good option, although the price for a single board is a bit above average. No documentation comes with it, and I couldn't figure out what firmware it came with, so I just downloaded the sketch from the Arduino IDE, which worked great. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the board. We see clear signs of change. A resistor and capacitor on the back were clearly touched by someone with average soldering skills. The USB connector isn't quite straight either, and is unusually tight, suggesting it may have overheated during soldering or rework. All in all, this board is good enough to use, but its value is slightly reduced by some build quality issues.
