First I use this metallic thread for hand embroidery. I haven't tried machine embroidery yet, that's what it was created for. I read in a magazine that this is good for hand-sewn "quilted" projects. Different threads, so likely different results. I use very thin needles and can be difficult to thread. Especially if you try to reload. The metal thread tends to fray and sometimes pulls through the material. This product did not assist in pulling or threading the needle. I found that good old beeswax works better for this.
