2015-2017 Mustang Front Bumper Repair

I've been reading about this repair on the forums for a number of years but still had to come across it. I was about to remove the front bumper fascia and as many have reported that the factory mounting points have failed I decided to buy them...just in case. Well, you shouldn't have to wait long. I started detailing and ceramic coating for Mustang Week and found that my passenger side was coming loose and the tongue was almost completely broken. I contacted Ford as my car has less than 20,000 miles and explained all the details. They assured me it would be covered. Well, to get to the point... they lied. I have a 16" and the 3 year old part had run out but their rep agreed it was a known factory problem and after driving 45 miles to the shop and leaving overnight they changed their mind. I received my car in Myrtle Beach the day before the show and was unable to fix it that night. We took our Explorer to the show. I know, I know it's a Mustang Show, but at least it's a Ford and more comfortable than a Super Duty 4x4. The Mustang show was awesome and I spotted a few 15-17 cars with this fix. When I got back I decided to install these quick release pins, well one of them anyway. First. They throw away the nuts that come with the pins. Go to a hardware store and buy nylock nuts. You will thank me later. Adjust the pins further in than you think. Watch a video about installing CJPP. Bill makes probably the best instructional video ever. And like in his video, change and save the plastic block, your setup will be tighter. It's only been installed for a few weeks but seems to be working fine. I'm not crazy about the pin, but we're talking a $10 fix versus a $1,500 fix here. I have a feeling I'll be installing on the driver's side just to make sure everything is symmetrical. I also bought a spare set in case one of them fail as they are made in China.
