My item must have been picked up from a junkyard. It certainly wasn't shaped like a cow's shoulder, and it had several holes in it, one over 1/2 inch and, you guessed it, in the middle, rendering the piece of you-know-what almost entirely unusable. This is a risk. You just don't know what you're getting. I decided on 4-6 tbsp. Mine was barely 4 sf so don't expect a higher level. If you only need it for keychains and small projects, turn around. I measured a piece. I work with both rigid and flexible building materials and floor coverings. So trust me when I say I know how to measure. Needless to say I returned it. Never again. Order from a well-known online leather retailer. Tandy is cheap leather, but you get the whole shoulder. It may not be flawless, but it won't have any holes in the middle. Absolutely ridiculous. Weavers are also more expensive, but their stuff is better.
