This light is so small I couldn't believe it when I first got it. I was expecting something at least twice as big. But it's actually a plus for me as I wanted a light to use with my phone holder, so it's actually perfect. And it's very bright, unbelievable. It is housed in an all-aluminum body, solid construction, and has a good weight in it - XXX grams. At the bottom you have your cold shoe mount w/ tripod mount, at the top you'll find 4 control buttons and a tiny LCD screen with info, and one side has a USB-C charging port. The cold shoe mount is also all aluminum, so it won't break any time soon.It has all the features you need in a camera light. Both sides of this light have LEDs and are used each for their own functionality - one side supports multiple colors and multiple visual effects to spice up your videos, and another side provides a normal white light with variable 2500K - 9000K color spectrum. Please note that you cannot use both sides of the light simultaneously, only one will work at a given time depending on the mode selected. I am mostly interested in its plain light source for still shots and this little guy delivers! Also, it comes with a silicone "shoe" that works great for diffusing the light as well as protecting the unit if dropped. It came about 75% charged out of the box and gets to 100% very quickly in about 15 minutes or so after plugging in to the USB 2A power adapter. Note that power supply is not provided, you need to use your own, but any USB-A power adapter will work.Functionally it's very intuitive and easy to use. For the normal white light, you can vary its brightness in increments from 1%-10% and it's very smooth. And you can vary the temperature from 2500K - 9000K in 100K increments. For the special effects light, you can select 12 various effects, select various RGB colors of the effects and vary brightness as well in 1% increments. The light will remember your last used setting, which is very convenient. End-to-end it was very easy to get acquainted with this light and start using it in 5 mins.From negative impressions I can say that the brightness level adjustments are not that smooth and linear as I would like it to be, it's on from 90%-100% but that first lowest 1%-10% brightness level just abruptly shut off the light, brightness drops like a rock. Another minus is that the silicone shoe looks like it's from a different light, it does not fit that well and gets stretched and deformed when you put it on, like it's too small for this light. Not a deal breaker just does not look good. And magnets are too weak, they are probably only for stacking together several of these lights in a row, but not for sticking to metal as a mounting option. Also, the shoe mount is very stiff and hard to rotate, I even had to replace one light because the mount was stuck and did not rotate at all. The replacement light is still hard to rotate on its mount but at least it rotates as it should.Bottom line:Yes, definitely a great addition to my photo equipment bag, I highly recommend it and will be getting another one! If you need a small light that is budget friendly and has the necessary functionality for 90% of shooting scenarios, then this is the one to get. It's well made, very bright, very small, and has tons of functionality. It's well worth its price and it exceeds my expectations by far!Pros:1) Build quality is excellent!2) Variable white light temperature from 2500K to 9000K in 100K increments.3) 12 special effects with variable RGB light color selection.4) It is very bright, and you can fine-tune brightness in 1% increments.5) Color temperature seems to be accurate, but I can't verify it yet.6) Comes with a protective silicone cover / diffuser.7) Battery is rated at 2500 mAh and lasts around 4-5 hours.8) Has magnets to stick to any metal surface.9) Has both cold shoe and 1/4" tripod mount.10) USB-C charging port for faster recharge.Cons:1) No way to control it externally (with an app?).2) Both sides can't be used together at the same time.3) Could have more special effect modes.4) Brightness at 1%-10% just shuts off, not smooth.5) Magnets are not that strong.6) The shoe mount is very stiff and hard to turn.7) Silicon shoes do not fit very well.
