Review on Regalo WideSpan Extension Pressure Mounting by Susan Park

I bought this gate to keep my cat out of a room with a very wide 55 inch opening. I've read some reviews here that it doesn't fit the 55 inch size (too big/too small) but I wanted to add a review to show that it REALLY fits this size, JUST GOOD, and there is anyway lots of free space. by adjustable bolts at the ends. Installation was easy for the most part, with the exception of a few hiccups. The installation instructions were good. Very clear, good pictures and in good English (it also had a Spanish page, possibly a third language too). The main issues were a few fit and finish issues during assembly. Extensions come with a rod coupler. One of the rods didn't line up with the hole so I had to pry the rod up slightly with a flathead screwdriver to line it up. Another thing is that the top hinge of the gate is held in place by a pin and bracket. The bracket was slightly offset so I had to file it a bit to get it to fit. But otherwise everything fits together perfectly. Another issue is the "extra security locks" at the bottom of the gate, which you can turn down to keep the gate closed even if you push the latch at the top, which for me does NOT move. They didn't rotate and stayed cemented in the up position. It might have been user error, but the instructions just said "turn it" which just didn't work. So either bad instructions, bad design or this device was poorly made. Once those issues are resolved, the gate does exactly what I wanted - providing an easy way to enter a room without a door while keeping the cat (who doesn't like to jump) out of the room.
