I ordered this heat gun to replace a damaged one. What drew me to this heat gun was the variable temperature control. My previous unit only had a two-stage setting that controlled both the airflow and the amount of heat, much like a hair dryer. I wanted something with better temperature control and this heat gun measures well. The kit comes with the heat gun, 4 nozzles, two scrapers and a manual. The nozzles snap into the end of the device and can be rotated to any desired position. Adjustable nozzles are helpful in avoiding having to rotate the gun itself when an area needs to be heated. The heat gun has a three-position power switch: off, low, and high. On the side is the variable temperature controller. The low and high positions produce a slightly different temperature range and airflow. This heat gun works perfectly. The temperature controller regulates the temperature very well. Surprisingly, the device is quiet even at high speeds. I noticed that the airflow is much less than the airflow of my old heat gun. I prefer less airflow, so another plus for this device. I was pleased to discover that the heat gun can be positioned on your back with the nozzle pointing up, allowing for hands-free operation. This feature is ideal when I need to heat solder joints or heat shrink tubing. I'll now be able to hold the pieces together with two hands instead of struggling with holding a heat gun.
