A common mistake with this design is the upper ball joint. Replacement ball joints are available, but why waste money, time and special tools when you can replace the entire upper assembly on both sides in an hour, including jacking up and securing the car. Removal and installation is easy and fairly low on the complexity scale. . Just lift and secure the car. Remove the front tires. I support the forearm with a block or jack. Loosen (do not remove) the castle nut on the upper ball joint. Place a ball joint yoke (cucumber yoke) between the ball joint and spindle. Hit the end of the sole fork with a ball stud hammer (I use a 32-ounce hammer) until the ball joint pops out. Now remove and discard the castle nut. Remove the front and rear bushing bolts (although not required, this is easier if you remove the fender liner). Remove control lever. Compare the old lever to the new to make sure it is on the correct side, then reinstall in reverse order. Be sure to meet all torque requirements. Note. To avoid preloading the bushings, place all your weight on the suspension before tightening the two control arm bushing bolts. The Moog ball joint includes grease fittings for longer life. The quality is OEM design and fits exactly. Hope that helps.
