I bought this without comparing it to the old lightbulb I was replacing. I just thought visually that most sewing machine lightbulbs are standard (they aren't!). It turns out that the base of this bulb is E-17, not E-12, which is what I needed. I found the right size by looking at the bulb base size chart on Google. However, I'll keep these in case my other sewing machines work. I found the right one (not Dritz) and found that the brightness of the LEDs is significantly better than the old incandescent bulbs.

The old bulbs got so hot needed something cooler. LED fits the bill.
