I had a small stuck caliper piston so I decided to push the piston further than it's current position. Slide it back and then out, repeat several times. This can help get rid of accumulated dirt, especially if the car doesn't drive that much. I usually just use a C-clamp to put the plunger back in, but I saw this and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did it because it was a lot quicker and easier. I immediately noticed that the weight was heavy. The plate is made of thick metal and is meant to last a long time. It says you can use a 5/16" wrench or socket on the handle. An 8mm head would also work, but the handle is a good size so I didn't even have to use it.
