Review on 📀 Sony DVP-SR370 Multisystem DVD Player, Region 4 Latin America, Central America, South America & Australia, 110 & 220 Volt - Black by Fernando Beck

I just tried two DVDs, one in US format and the other in Region2 format. Both DVDs play very well. Instructions in Spanish; However, no instructions are required as the audio/video connections are colour-coded making it obvious where to connect the supplied cable to your DVD player and TV. The power cord comes with a plug adapter so you can plug it into a US outlet. It is rated for 110-240V, so you can easily plug it directly into a US outlet. When you turn on the DVD for the first time after connecting to a TV, the setup screen appears. This allows you to choose English as the installation language, which is very useful for those of us who don't know Spanish. Added after trying some other DVD players, plays some American DVDs but not all. Some DVDs I've tried have some sort of copy protection or formatting that prevents this player from playing them, while others play without any problems. I'm not sure how you can tell what works without trying. -------- Update: I didn't realize it when I wrote my original review. that the foreign DVDs I bought are both region 2 and region 4. It turns out that the player I have only plays region 4 (or region-less DVDs). Although the description said it was supra-regional. I ordered a region 2 DVD but it won't play. At least when I bought the player, the price was pretty low. BEWARE OF THE BUYER: I didn't realize there was a picture of a globe with a number on the back of the player. If the number is 0, the player is region free. If there is a number like 2 or 4, the player will only play DVDs that are compatible with that region. Rating changed to 2 stars.
